TOLEDO, OH (WCMH) – Keith Urban’s ‘number one fan’ had a surprise guest Thursday at a Toledo hospital.
Marissa English, 25 was born with a number of health conditions, including water and an inoperable cyst on her brain, severe scoliosis and cerebral palsy, WTOL reported
English had tickets for Thursday’s show in Toledo, but was unable to attend, as she is now facing hospice. A group English’s nurses started a social media campaign to get Keith Urban to visit her in the hospital.
@KeithUrban @mercy_health Keith will be in Toledo for a concert tomorrow (10/18). His “number 1 fan” is a patient here at St. Vs in Toledo! She had tix for the concert but is now facing hospice. Trying to reach out to see if Keith can possibly give this young girl her dying wish— Laura Biel (@LauraBiel71) October 17, 2018
After hundreds of retweets, the campaign apparently got the attention of Keith Urban. Urban dropped by Marissa’a room at Mercy Health Children’s Hospital before his concert to visit. He even took the time to sing her a song.
Urban invited several members of Marissa’s family to the concert, and even mentioned Marissa to the sold-out crowd saying he truly thinks she is his biggest fan. He dedicated Thursday’s show to Marissa.
