Police: Employee stole $3,400 in lottery tickets from Wareham store

(WPRI) — As the Mega Millions jackpot reaches an all-time high, it seems one New Bedford man was caught stooping to an all-time low.

According to the Wareham Police Department, Matthew Christianson was caught stealing lottery tickets from the Cumberland Farms on Depot Street.

Police said Christianson is an employee of the convenience store. Officers recently received a report that he had stolen approximately $3,400 in lottery tickets from the store over the course of four weeks.

Christianson, 28, was arraigned in Wareham District Court on a charge of larceny of over $1,200.
