BURLINGTON, Vt. (WFFF) – Burlington Police is investigating the untimely death of University of Vermont student.

Police say an unresponsive male was found lying in the snow in the parking lot of a business on North Winooski Avenue Saturday morning.

Attempts to resuscitate the 19 year-old were unsuccessful.

An initial investigation found the teen was cutting through the parking lot overnight but was stopped from doing so by a fence.

Foul play is not suspected, but police do say inadequate clothing for the weather may have played a role in the man’s death.

The teen’s identity is being witheld pending family notification.

UVM will be offering counseling services to anyone students or staff affected by the news.
