Rescued owl returns to the wild

(WYFF/NBC News) An owl found tangled in fishing line hanging over a South Carolina river has returned to the wild.

 The 2-year-old male barred owl was rescued last week after he was spotted by fishermen. 

 “We took him and put him in a flight pen, let him stay there a couple days make sure he was eating on his own, make sure he could fly from perch to perch,” says Mike Hoskinson of Wild At Hart Wildlife Rehab.”

 Hoskinson says the owl had sore muscles from hanging in the fishing line, but no serious injuries.
