(WTNH) – Interstate 91Northbound in Rocky Hill is closed due to a tanker truck fire on Sunday.
Around 6:00 a.m., officials learned of a truck accident on the highway.
The fire engulfed the entire truck and subsequently shut down the northbound side of the interstate.
Mutual aid responded to the scene from towns and cities as far as New Haven. Rocky Hill Police have also said that some residents had been evacuated and warming shelters were set up at the local high school located at 50 Chapin Ave.
It is unclear at this time just what caused the crash to occur. No one was injured.
