(NEWS10) – Heads up if you are planning trips out of the country this summer.

Starting on Saturday, TSA will add new restrictions focused on powders in carry-on luggage.

This is focused on international travelers flying into the United States.

Any powdered substance, like makeup or baby powder, must be packed in containers less than 12 ounces, or about the size of a soda can.

Larger amounts can be packed in your checked baggage.

Powders stored in carry-on luggage will be subject to a secondary search by TSA officials.

The TSA is asking international airports with non-stop flights to the U.S. to put a similar policy in effect.

Officials say the new restrictions come after a failed plot to blow up a plane in Australia last July.
