(WPRI) — Over 1,400 students will be welcomed Sunday, as they move in for the start of the school year.

Chancellor Robert Johnson will be greeting new students and their families from 10 a.m. to noon.

Student volunteers were on hand to help new students and their families with the move-in process.

The new first-year students will be joined by nearly 500 transfer students and more than 200 former Mount Ida students.

Mount Ida College closed earlier this year.

The Class of 2022 will be officially welcomed during Convocation exercises on Tuesday in the Vietnam Veterans Peace Amphitheater.
