WWE announced death of ‘Mean’ Gene Okerlund

(WPRI) – Legendary interviewer ‘Mean’ Gene Okerlund has passed away at the age of 76, World Wrestling Entertainment announced Wednesday.

According to the WWE, Okerlund was given his nickname by Jesse “The Body” Ventura.

During his Hall of Fame career, he’s interviewed the biggest names in the sport, including Hulk Hogan, Randy “Macho Man” Savage, The Ultimate Warrior and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan.
