WWLP-22News General Manager Bill Pepin retiring

(WWLP) – After 49 years, WWLP-22News General Manager Bill Pepin is calling it a career.

Pepin’s last day at 22News is Tuesday. He says good bye to a station that he has led as general manager for decades.

The Massachusetts Broadcasters Association named Pepin “Broadcaster of the Year” in 2017. It’s just one of his many accomplishments in the television business.

A western Massachusetts native, Pepin began his television career at the age of 18–going on to master jobs behind the scenes in production, and on-air as a weather reporter. At age 28, Pepin became the youngest television general manager in the United States at sister station KSTU.

Pepin returned to western Massachusetts in 1984 as general manager of WWLP-22News, a station that has dominated the market under his guidance over the years.

If you ask Bill what he will miss the most, he says “the people.”

Congratulations, Bill!
