Well Patriots Nation the day is finally here, just minutes away from Super Bowl 53. For some teams in the NFL being in the Super Bowl is a goal, but here in New England, it’s an expectation.
Super Bowl Sunday marks the Pats 11th appearance in the big game and their fourth in the last five years. Talk about a dynasty, that dynasty has come full circle as the Pats will be taking on the Rams, the same team they faced exactly 17 years ago when New England hoisted the Lombardi Trophy for the first time.
“It’s cool to live in an area with such a good team, definitely a different experience than what most of the country gets,” said Rachel Hall, a UMass student.
After an 11-5 regular season, many thought New England’s run to a Super Bowl would come up short, but as the Pats have proven, they’re still here.
The game is a battle of experience vs. youth. Although the Pats are favored in the game, a victory in Atlanta will not come easy as the Rams have some of the best young talent in The NFL.
22News spoke with fans here in western Massachusetts about their predictions for the big game and they all predicted a Patriots win.
“It’s been super close regardless of who we play so I’m expecting more of the same,” Jackson Hamilton of Boston told 22News. “I’ll go with Pats 31 Rams 28.”
A sixth Super Bowl win for the Pats would tie the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most Super Bowl victories of all time.
