The Patriots needed a win Sunday and they got it.

The Pats beat the Bills 24 to 12 Sunday afternoon becoming AFC East Champions for the 10th straight year.

It’s been a difficult second half of December for the New England Patriots after losing back to back games for the second time this season against Miami and Pittsburgh and one of their star players. The Pats returned to Gillette where they looked to bounce back against the Buffalo Bills.

Despite the two-game skid, fans told 22News the team could use those games as extra motivation as they close out the season.

“Gotta face the adversity and build off of it,” said Jaret Petruzzelli of Abington. “A couple character building losses we went through, we just have to win here at Gillette and go right into the playoffs, that’s when the Pats season really starts is in the playoffs.”

Following those losses, Patriots star wide receiver Josh Gordon stepped away from the team due to mental illness and was suspended indefinitely by the NFL due to a violation of the league’s substance abuse policy.

“I was sort of mad to see that happen to him again but I hope he gets better and works to fix his mental issues,” Andrew Poirier of Rhode Island told 22News.

The Patriots will wrap up the 2018 regular season back here at Gillette Stadium next week when they take on the New York Jets.
