Christopher Bell was able to hold off Brad Keselowski to win the Lakes Region 200 NASCAR Xfinity Series event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon.
“I was getting really nervous, because I didn’t have a tach, so I didn’t know how I was going to get down pit road,” said Bell to reporters after the race.
“Luckily, I got the best spotter on the roof, and Tony [Hirschman] was able to guide me and let me know ‘I think you can pick it up a little bit,’ and, a couple of times, told me to slow it down. It worked out for us we were able to take four tires there. That was a big deal.”
Brad Keselowski finished in the second position. He set fast time in qualifying He had to start at the rear of the field for missing the drivers meeting.
Bell took down the win in stage 1. He was off the pit cycle and fell back to eighth allowing Brad Keselowski to win stage 2. Bell took the lead in the final eight laps and held off Keselowski to win the event. He led a total of 93 laps.
Ryan Preece finished third in the event.
The NASCAR Xfinity Series will head to Iowa Speedway next Saturday. The NASCAR Xfinity Series will be back at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 20, 2019.
