(WWLP) – The Boston Bruins look to add another championship to Boston’s sports team success after their win on Tuesday.

The Boston Bruins advanced to the second round of the Stanely Cup Playoffs after their win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday.

The Bruins clinched the second round with a dominant 5-1 win in Game 7 and the Celtics are
playing in the second round of the NBA Playoffs.

Fans told 22News they’re hoping the teams can make deep runs in the playoffs and bring them two more duck boat parades.

Brandon Braithwaite of South Hadley remembers the days before Boston became a title town, “When you had the Antonie Walker and Paul Pierce days you get into the playoffs and struggle and with the red sox I went years and years wanting them to win and they were horrible but now it’s time for us to achieve championships, Braithwaite said.”

Boston teams from the four major American sports leagues have won a combined 12 championships since 2000. That’s more than any other city in the nation.

The Bruins will play their first second-round game Thursday at 7 p.m. against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
