Stafford Motor Speedway officials announced on Wednesday Bud Light will sponsor the second Open Modified 80 coming up on Friday, July 13.
The first Open Modified 80 was held almost three weeks ago as Tommy Barrett took down the victory in the 80 lap race after making a late race move on Rowan Pennink. The winner of the 80 lap race will be paid $3,500 along with having 80 ice cold Bud Lights that will be apart of the winner’s trophy.
“When David (Arute) told me about how the fans and drivers reacted to the June Twisted Tea Open Modified event, we were excited to get involved,” said Brett Hollander, Marketing and Craft Beer Sales Manager at Hartford Distributors, Inc in a news release.
“All of us at Hartford Distributors and Bud Light, along with myself, are very excited to be part of this great event at Stafford Motor Speedway. Can’t wait to see another great modified race at Stafford and make sure the driver is hydrated in victory lane,” said Hollander.
The Ted Christopher 13-lap shootout will also take place on July 13. The top 13 finishers in the regularly scheduled 40 lap SK Modified race will be inverted and to go for the prize of $1,300.
There will be a Bud Light Happy Hour from 5:15 p.m. when the general admission gates open until 6:15 p.m. Bud Light 16 oz Drafts will be $3. After Happy Hour, there will be $2 off 24oz Bud Light cans for the rest of the program during the evening. Bud Light will have a display on the Midway.

“I can’t thank Brett Hollander and HDI Distributors enough for working with us on this event. If you thought the Twisted Tea 80 was fun this one will be even bigger. The winner will have 80 ice cold Bud Lights in Victory lane, the fans will get a Bud Light Happy Hour, and every starter will receive a 12-pack after the race to enjoy with their crew.”
The Late Models, SK Lights, Limited Late Models, and Street Stocks will be apart of this historic night.
The program will begin at 6:30 p.m. will Open Modified qualifying heat races with features to follow.
