Longmeadow and East Longmeadow faced off at their annual Thanksgiving Day football game.
It’s been a tradition for both teams that has lasted several decades. In the last 10 years, the rivalry has gotten much more competitive.
Both teams commitment to excellence on and off the field is shown by them taking pride, not just in the Thanksgiving Day game but, in the success of their season throughout the year.
Former Football Coach of East Longmeadow High School Scott Raymond said, “Both teams know each other really well. They go to camp together at the start of the season. So both teams run similar offenses, they know each other well. The games themselves have always been really competitive because of that.”
Raymond told 22News, it was an exciting day for all of the players, coaches, and fans, despite having to play in this bitter cold weather.
East Longmeadow won their home game 14-7 against Longmeadow.
