Former Red Sox general manager visits WNEU

The Boston Red Sox were celebated at Western New England University Monday night.

Former Red Sox General Manager, and Berkshire County native Dan Duquette, along with team historian Gordon Edes spoke to guests at an event organized by Springfield’s chapter of the Society for American Baseball Research.

The event allowed Western New England students and community members to learn about sports management and careers in Major League Baseball.

Duquette told 22News, “Well, I’m originally from western Massachusetts, right. So I grew up wanting to help the Red Sox and I always dreamed of making a contribution.”

Duquette was general manager of the Red Sox from 1994 to 2002.
