Greenfield’s Richard Vincent won the 2018 Monadnock Speedway Thunder Stock championship two weeks ago. He clinched the championship by finishing fifth. He won the championship by 16 points over Greenfield’s Bruce Clark.
Vincent told 22News that he had a good year.
” We had a few wins. It was a definitely a relief to win the championship.” Said Vincent
During the final race of the season, there was a lot going through Vincent’s mind. The car wasn’t handling as good as it had been. He knew he had to be in front of the second place contender Bruce Clark or at least five spots behind him.
The four wins for Vincent were definitely a highlight of the season. The low of the season getting disqualified out of a win. It was something he and the team overlooked in the rulebook.
Vincent is still shocked he won the championship.
” I knew we could do it but I never thought it would actually happen.” Said Vincent
Vincent along with the other Monadnock Speedway NASCAR Whelen All American Series Champions will be honored at the awards banquet at The Log Cabin in Holyoke in November.
