Mike McVetta will race in the CARQUEST Genden Auto Parts 75 presented by T-Bird Mini Marts ISMA Supermodified season opener coming up next weekend on Saturday, May 19 at Monadnock Speedway. McVetta will make the long trek from Ohio for the event. He told 22News he is pretty excited about the event.
“We got a lot of new things going. Done some updates to the car we’ve run the last few years. We gotta brand new car going together as well,” McVetta said.
The series will have a new tire made by Hoosier. McVetta was one of the drivers that got to test the new Hoosier tire.
McVetta told 22News, “There light years ahead of what we ran last year. I think they’ll make for much better racing. Some more passing. Some more wheel to wheel then what we’ve seen in the last couple years but I think those are all great things and the wear was good too. Normally you get this better tire for racing that will only last 40 laps when we run 50 to 100. This thing seems to hold up pretty well too. I think we will see a lot better results out of it.”
McVetta’s understanding of Monadnock is it’s a small track and that it’s pretty racy.
“We generally seem to do a little better on the smaller tracks. I am pretty excited to give it a shot,” said McVetta.
McVetta told 22News that when fans come to the New Hampshire quarter mile oval on Saturday, May 19 that they will expect to see the fastest cars that they have ever seen around the quarter mile oval and hopefully some good racing.
The Monadnock Speedway NASCAR Whelen All American Series divisions will be apart of the program with racing action beginning at 6:00 p.m.
