NBC Sports along with IMSA announced on Thursday they will show 100 exclusive hours of the 2019 IMSA Season beginning with the Rolex 24 one of the most prestigious sports car races at Daytona International Speedway beginning on Saturday, January 26 that begins at 2 p.m. on NBCSN (NBC Sports Network). The IMSA races will be shown on NBC, NBCSN NBCsports.com and the NBC Sports App.
NBCSN will have a one-hour 2019 IMSA season preview that will air on Thursday, January 24 beginning at 2 p.m. and head right into qualifying beginning at 3 p.m.
It was announced back in April by NBC Sports and IMSA will start a six-year media rights agreement. NBC Sports acquired the U.S. Broadcasts to all IMSA races that will begin in 2019.
“As we all get ready for IMSA’s much-anticipated 50th anniversary season in 2019, our new NBC Sports media partnership promises to promote and showcase our unique premium product in revolutionary ways,” said IMSA CEO Ed Bennett in a news release
“Both IMSA and the WeatherTech Championship have been experiencing incredible momentum the last several years,and this partnership should only help elevate the sport to new heights.”
“We couldn’t be more excited to begin our IMSA coverage from the Daytona International Speedway with the iconic 57th Rolex 24,” said Jon Miller, President, Programming, NBC Sports and NBCSN in a news release.
“As the home of U.S. motorsports, we’ll showcase the uniqueness of IMSA racing to motorsports fans everywhere, as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the association throughout the upcoming season.”
NBC will show the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar races live from Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on Sunday, July 7 that will start at 1:00 p.m. along with the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on Sunday, September 15 beginning at 5 p.m. and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on Saturday, October 12 beginning at noon.
The IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar GT Daytona and GT LeMans Classes will make their New England appearance at Lime Rock Park in Northwestern Connecticut next July.
