The New England Patriots started training camp last week and are preparing for the 2018 season after losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in last year’s Super Bowl.

New England Patriots Safety Patrick Chung was the Honorary Pace Car Driver for the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway back on Sunday, July 22.

Chung told 22News about the NASCAR experience at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

“I got here pretty early. The fans are here and there ready to go. I think Rob (Nikovinch) told me there could be 100,000 in here and that’s nuts. The atmosphere is cool. I was walking around the field and seen all the cars. Looking in the car. Everything is digital. The head gear I am like oh man. This is some real stuff. They’re constantly working on the cars all day. Its crazy. Its a great atmosphere. Definitely different from football.” Said Chung.

Chung was the fifth different Patriots player or coach to be the Honorary Pace Car Driver.  Julian Edelman, Rob Nikovinch, Matt Light, and Josh McDaniels were all the honorary pace car drivers at the Magic Mile.

The New England Patriots will host the Washington Redskins in preseason action next Thursday, August 9 and you can catch the game on 22News beginning at 7:30 p.m.
