Oxford Plains Speedway to start their 2019 season this weekend

OXFORD, ME (WWLP) –  Oxford Plains Speedway will kick off their 2019 season this weekend with the Budweiser Oxford Championship Series divisions to be held on Saturday featuring the Super Late Models, Street Stocks, Bandits, Figure 8’s and Rookies. And on Sunday it will be featuring the Honey Badger Bar & Grill 150 for the Pro All Star Series North Super Late Models along with the season opener for the American Canadian Tour Late Models, North East Mini Stock Tour, along with the PASS Mods and the Honey Badger Street Stocks.

he race program on Saturday will begin at 4 p.m. and the race program on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

There will be a Fan Meet & Greet for the Oxford Championship Series divisions on Saturday, May 11. The event will also feature the North East Classic Lites. The North East Mini Stock Tour will be back for another appearance on Saturday, May 18  The first race for the Allen’s Coffee Oxford Acceleration Series will be held on Memorial Day Monday, May 27 that will be the first Motor Mayhem event of the season that will feature a Four and Six cylinder Enduro, Spectator Drags, Chain races, and a Smokey Donut Competition. The Oxford Acceleration Series divisions will feature Outlaws, Rebels, Ladies division, Cruisers, and Tiger Cats Figure 8’s. Race time will begin at 2 p.m.

The Pro All Star Series North Super Late Models and PASS Mods return to the speedway on Sunday, June 2 along with the NELCAR Legends. The Oxford Acceleration Series will resume on Wednesday, June 12.  The second Motor Mayhem event of the season will return on Friday, June 21. The PASS Super Late Models Non-Qualifiers race for the Oxford 250 will take place on Sunday, June 30 along with the PASS Mods and the Honey Badger Street Stocks and the first triple crown event for the Rebels.

There will be a 100 lap Super Late Model Open race on Saturday, July 6 that will be a points race for the Oxford Plains Speedway Super Late Models and an Oxford 250 qualifier. 

The PASS Super Late Models and PASS Mods will return on Sunday, July 14 along with the Honey Badger Street Stocks. The third Motor Mayhem event of the season will take place on Friday, July 19 with a rain date on Saturday, July 20. 

It is one of the most prestigious short track races in the country. The 46th annual Oxford 250 returns on Friday-Sunday August 23-25. The weekend will kick off on Friday, August 23 featuring the Allen’s Coffee Oxford Acceleration Series division along with the Budweiser Oxford Championship Street Stocks, PASS Mods, and the NELCAR Legends. There will be practice for the PASS Super Late Models and the Tri-Track Open Modifieds. 

On Saturday, August 24, the event will feature the American Canadian Tour Late Models for 150 laps. The first appearance by the Tri-Track Open Modified Series for the Oxford 100 along with the Budweiser Oxford Championship Series Street Stocks, and Full-Size Figure 8’s, Wicked Good Vintage Racers, North East Classic Lites, and the NELCAR Legends.

On Sunday, August 25 it is one of the biggest days in short track racing with the Oxford 250. It will feature 250 laps for the PASS National Super Late Models along with the PASS Mods, North East Mini Stock Tour  OCS Street Stocks, OAS Rebels, and the NELCAR Legends.

The fourth Motor Mayhem event of the season will happen on Saturday, August 31. Championship night for the Budweiser Oxford Championship Series and the Allen Coffee Oxford Acceleration Series will take place on Saturday, September 7.  The Pro All Star Series North Super Late Models will return with the PASS Mods, Honey Badger Street Stock Series and the second triple crown event for the Rebels will take place on Sunday, September 15.

Oxford Plains Speedway will close out their 2019 season with the PASS North Super Late Models on Saturday, October 19 along with the PASS Mods, the final Triple Crown race for the Bandits, and the Honey Badger Street Stocks. The Armageddon of Destruction event will take place on Sunday, October 20.
