Pittsfield team competes in New England Regional Championship game

The Pittsfield American Little League team’s all-star run has come to an end.

The New England Regional Championship game against Coventry, Rhode Island was held this morning at the Little League Leadership Training Center in Bristol, Connecticut after being rained out Saturday afternoon.

The Massachusetts State Champions fell just short losing 3-2.

Andres Colon, a Pittsfield resident, told 22News the community was excited for the team, “It’s super awesome for the whole community, the whole area and the 413 in general. It was a great game. I enjoyed watching it. Kinda bummed out at some of the calls at the end, but all-in-all, they tried hard and I’m super happy for them.”

Pittsfield Police took to Twitter to commend the team for their hard work.

This was the first time a Pittsfield Little League team made it to Bristol since Pittsfield South earned trips in 2000 and 2001.
