The post season run continues for the Boston Red Sox as they are back at Fenway for Game 1 of The ALCS against The Houston Astros.

They advance after taking 3 out of 4 against The New York Yankees in the ALDS. Although the Sox have been advancing throughout the playoffs and have the most wins in the MLB, the team feels like they still have something to prove.

Fans of all ages and even some four legged friends filled Jersey Street before Saturday night’s game.
Despite winning an MLB high 108 wins during the regular season and coming off a dominating series against The New York Yankees, the Red Sox are considered the underdogs in the series against the reigning champion Houston Astros.

“The whole year you were the best team in the AL and now you’re not getting the respect you deserve,” said Christina Galgano. “I get the Astros won the World Series but this year they proved they are better than any other team even in the NL, so there’s no reason to be the underdog but it makes them angrier and want to play even harder.”

Regardless of the 108 win season, fans know the team hasn’t lost sight of the ultimate prize.

“Throughout the whole season it doesn’t matter how many wins you get, as long as you get to the playoffs,” said one Red Sox fan. “But this is show time this is when it really counts, this is the time to shine.”

Galgano added, “They just have to focus on each game, and even if they lose one it doesn’t matter they still have a chance, just have to keep fighting no matter what. The past doesn’t matter we just have to focus, 8 more wins and we’ll have that ring.”

Games 1 and 2 will be played in Boston, before heading down to Houston, if necessary games 6 and 7 will be back at Fenway Park.
