Tom Fearn has been a veteran racer for close to 30 years racing at Riverside Park Speedway in Agawam and at Stafford Motor Speedway. Fearn started racing at Riverside back in the late 1980’s. Fearn has won six races in a row out of nine this season in the Late Model division.

After the conclusion of Fearn winning his sixth Late Model race in a row last Friday night at Stafford, Stafford Motor Speedway GM Mark Arute announced that there would be a $500 bounty to be paid to any Late Model team that can beat Tom Fearn beginning this Friday June 29. The bounty will push the winner’s shates of the Late Model purse to $1,450 after contingency bonuses from and New England Race Fuels.

“We’re putting a $500 bounty on Tom Fearn and the # 92 team,” said Stafford Motor Speedway General Manager Mark Arute in a press release.

“Tommy has been racing at Stafford for almost 30 years, it’s no surprise they are streaking like they are. Tommy and Stu (Fearn) are one heck of a driver/crew chief combination, but its time for another team to step up and knock the # 92 out of victory lane,” Arute said.

Fearn is fourth on the all-time win list at Stafford with 60 wins. There are three other drivers that have won in the Late Model division that includes Wilbraham’s Glen Reen, Michael Wray, and Darrell Keane.

“I wasn’t even to the scales yet after the race was over and my guys were telling me about the bounty,” said Fearn in a news release.

“I guess I’m flattered by it. It was a long time ago that I saw Tom Rosati have a bounty on him here at Stafford and I talked during the week with Mark (Arute) about it but I wasn’t sure if he was actually going to do it or not. I don’t want to give anything away, but I guess we’ll have to do it something special now for this coming Friday. It makes for a nice story line for sure,” said Fearn

There are some restrictions on the bounty. The bounty will be paid to the first driver to beat Tom Fearn when the # 92 car finishes on the lead lap of the Late Model event. A DNF (Do Not Finish) will not count towards the bounty and if Fearn cannot finish the race, the bounty will rollover into the following week’s event.

This event will be apart of the NAPA Auto Parts SK 5K this Friday night at Stafford Motor Speedway.
