Food safety tips for your Super Bowl party

(WWLP) – Hosting a party for Super Bowl Sunday? The USDA is offering food safety tips so that your guests don’t get sick:

  • Wash hands and surfaces often
  • Do not rinse chicken wings in the kitchen sink
  • Keep raw meat separated from other foods to avoid cross contamination; Use separate cutting boards for each food
  • Use a food thermometer to make sure foods have reached the correct internal temperature (see below)
  • Keep hot foods in a slow cooker or chafing dish, keep cold foods by placing them in a tray of ice
  • Refrigerate food! Don’t leave food out for more than two hours
