Mayhew Tools out of Turners Falls will sponsor NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Pole Award for the 2019 season. During NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour qualifying, there is the driver who sets the fastest time. The crew chief will also be recognized with a product called The Big Stick.
The Big Stick is part of the Mayhew Tools Dominator Product Line. It is the heaviest pry bar that weighs 13 pounds and is 54 inches in length.
“Sponsorship of the Pole Award helps us preserve the brand awareness we have established in the racing community over the last few years while simultaneously giving us the opportunity to make a greater and more deliberate impact where our tools are concerned,” commented John Lawless, President, Mayhew Tools in a news release
“As part of the sponsorship, we will give each pole winning crew chief one of our new Big Sticks at the conclusion of each race. The crew chiefs are the ones turning wrenches and hustling behind the scenes to get their team’s driver across the finish line first, so this will not only help recognize them for their efforts, but also offer us the opportunity to seed our tools into the hands of some of our end users.”
Mayhew Tools will also sponsor Doug Coby for the 2019 season on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. Coby set fast time in qualifying on Saturday in the season opener for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour at Myrtle Beach Speedway. He had to start at the rear of the field for changing a tire after a screw was found in the tire. Coby would come back and win the 150 lap season opener.
The next event for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will be at South Boston Speedway in South Boston, VA on Saturday, March 30.
