BUFFALO, New York (WWLP) – The Umass men’s hockey impressive season finally came to an end Saturday night.

The clock struck midnight on this Cinderella season for the UMass men’s hockey team. The Minutemen found themselves on the wrong end of a 3-0 loss to Minnesota Duluth. Despite the loss UMass and western Massachusetts still have a lot to be proud of.

“We all came out here with a lot of energy, but it happens sometimes you have to take a step back in order to take a step forward,” said UMass freshman Jake Brockway.

“We brought so much respect and pride to this school and it’s going to be a successful program for years to come,” said sophomore defenseman Cale Makar.

Jim Monteleone, a New Jersey resident, said, “They did an amazing job they played their hearts out. Great year and what an amazing weekend. Great season tough night but you have to feel good about where they are going.”

Fans and players agreed they expect the success to continue in this program and that this season won’t be the only Frozen Four appearance.
