BR_LKLV_FIXES START ON BORDER LEVEE 050421

Construction crews have started to repair at least two of four giant breaches in the border levee wall in South Texas just as Hidalgo County Judge Richard Cortez and U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar took a helicopter tour of the region to check on progress. The repairs will take two weeks to fill in the road-sized gaps, and then up to five months to fix more elaborate shaved in sections that require structural accuracies, they told media at a news conference held in Palmview, Texas, Tuesday evening. U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar spoke with Border Report's Sandra Sanchez, and Hidalgo County Judge Richard Cortez told media he was relieved that fixes were underway. (Border Report Video/Sandra Sanchez)
