2 killed, 1 in critical condition in Washington shooting

Washington D.C.

(AP) – Two men are dead and another man is in critical condition after a fight Saturday night in Bellevue, authorities told KING TV.

A woman was also wounded and is being treated at a hospital in the suburb east of Seattle, the TV station reported.

The violence apparently took place about 7:30 p.m. at a housewarming party at the Elements Apartments, a three-building complex downtown, authorities said.

Authorities told KING the suspect and victims knew each other, but they could not say who initiated the stabbing or shooting.ADVERTISEMENT

Police would not tell the TV station if the suspect is among the deceased.

“We don’t know who did what,” police Chief Steve Mylett told the Seattle Times. “…Now we’re in the process of pulling back layers trying to figure out exactly what happened.”

The Times reported that Miranda Rogers, who lives in another tower in the Elements Apartments, described the complex as quiet, where “something like this happening is pretty rare.” Her neighbors have always been pleasant, she added.

“I think this is just a really unfortunate event that happened among a group of friends,” she said.
