Frequent rain in recent months keeping western Mass. out of drought conditions

During September and October, we saw quite a bit of rain.

The rain did come down heavy at times and that led to some flash flooding.

Area rivers have frequently been rising but have gone back down in most areas.

We’ve picked up over 15 inches of rain in the Springfield area so far this fall.

We don’t have to worry at all about drought condition in western Massachusetts, however, some areas in northern New England and northern New York are actually dealing with drought conditions right now.
