3 storm-related deaths in Connecticut, New York

Hundreds of people across the state are without power this morning.

Tuesday’s storm brought down power lines, and at one point all four counties were under a tornado watch. 

In Connecticut and New York, the storms turned deadly. 

Mark Boughton, the Mayor Danbury, Connecticut confirmed via Twitter a man was killed in his pickup truck while trying to wait out the storm. 

Connecticut State Police also confirmed that someone in New Fairfield was killed after a tree landed on their car. 

According to 22News’ sister station, WTEN, an 11-year-old girl in Newburgh, New York was also killed when the wind caused a large tree to fall onto the vehicle the girl and her mother were unloading.
