(WWLP) – Temperatures this Thursday morning started in the single digts and even teens below zero, without factoring in the wind chill.
Well the brutally cold air is here, but it’s not going to last for long. The reason we are so cold is a huge dip in the jet stream over the upper Midwest and into the eastern united states allowing all this cold from Canada to drop in, keeping mild air in the southwestern United States.
Fast forward several days into the weekend and early next week and it’s a completely different weather pattern, the jet stream jumps to the north, mild air builds in and temperatures rise into the 40s and even 50s aren’t out of the question.
