Snow fell across western Massachusetts Tuesday morning but it did have trouble sticking to the roads.
In addition to the snow this week it has felt like winter too. On Monday and Wednesday we tied the record low temperatures. On Monday morning it got down to 21 degrees and Wednesday morning it was just 19 degrees.
This weather has been a major inconvenience for some people. “Built a new home in South Hadley we have mud, mud, mud for a yard and they can’t hydroseed it until it warms up a little bit and here we are almost the middle of April,” said Jean Girardin of South Hadley.
Some people are looking forward to warmer weather. “Yeah and all the flowers that will grow and brighten up the atmosphere,” said Father Plasse of Chicopee.
Our average high temperatures for this time of year should be in the mid to upper 50s and our average low temperatures should be in the mid 30s.
Last year at this time it was feeling more like the middle of summer. Western Massachusetts was experiencing record heat. On April 10th it was 80 degrees and on April 11th it made it all the way up to 88 degrees.
