Dealing with another day of high heat and humidity

Weather News

Despite the heat, some people were out walking and running before the hottest part of the day but it didn’t take much to work up a sweat.

While some people and animals took it easy and relaxed in the shade, most people had a plan on how to cool off.

“Run around in the sprinkler,” said Bennett Steele of Hampden.

“Yeah the kids will probably be out in the sprinkler but when they go home yes we’ll be in the air conditioning,” said Beverly Steele of East Longmeadow.

“I’m staying inside or go to a pool and then I’m going to a movie and sit in an air conditioned theater,” said Andrea Morissette of East Longmeadow.

Our average high temperatures for this time of year should be around 80 degrees and our average low temperature is in the mid 50s.

So far we’ve made it up into the 90s on 22 days this year. On average we make it into the 90s on 15 days during the summer.
