We may be dealing with some mild weather right now but we have had some colder temperatures recently.
Even though you might have it off right now, chances are, you have turned your heat on this season. Last week we did have some temperatures that dropped down into the 20s and 30s.
“Prices this year are somewhat higher than where they were last year but they’re still lower than they were three or four years ago when they were flirting with four dollars,” said Tim Noonan of Noonan Energy.
Noonan said on average a house will go through about 650 to 700 gallons of heating oil over the course of a year, and around 35 percent of the population of Massachusetts uses oil as their primary source for heat.
As of July 1, all heating oil sold in Massachusetts must be Ultra-low sulfur and can contain just 15 parts per million sulfur content.
