Flash Flood Watch in effect for most of western Massachusetts

Weather News

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – You can expect more rain Wednesday, as we continue our stretch of tropical weather.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin Counties through Thursday morning.

Timing:

  • Morning: Scattered showers
  • Afternoon: Scattered showers and thunderstorms
  • Night: Showers & storms continue, with heavy downpours possible overnight into Thursday

Flash floods can happen from heavy rain over a short period of time. If you’re caught driving in the rain and experience flash flooding, remember… “turn around, don’t drown!” Do not drive through flooded streets, as it is hard to tell how much water is actually there.

Don’t forget to send flooding reports and photos to ReportIt@wwlp.com.
