We’re approaching 90 degrees for the third day in a row.
We’ve been talking a lot lately about 90 degree heat and heat waves. So how many 90 degree or hotter days do we usually get a year in the lower Pioneer valley?
According to new data from Westover A.R.B. in Chicopee, we reach 90 degrees or higher 15 days out of the year.
Even though we’re not done with summer yet, we’ve already surpassed the average and had highs in the 90’s 20 times so far this year, four days of which were back in May.
According to the August temperature outlook from the climate prediction center, above average temperatures are expected for the month, so there’s plenty of chances for more 90’s before cooler air arrives into the fall.
