CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The 22News Storm Team issued a Weather Alert for snow and a rain/snow mix through Saturday morning.

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for western Hampden, western Hampshire, western Franklin, and Berkshire County until 7 a.m. Saturday.

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for eastern Franklin County until 7 a.m. Saturday.

Snowfall Map for Thursday Night into Friday:

Friday will be a chilly rainy day, with some occasional sleet and snow showers. In the hills of western Hampden, western Hampshire, and western Franklin County, the accumulating snow will continue. Light to moderate accumulating snow is likely in central and eastern Franklin County, too.

The heaviest snow and rain will happen Friday morning. Friday’s high temperatures will be in the mid to upper 30s. We expect the snow to be heavy and wet. Power outages are possible in the Berkshires and foothills.

The rain and snow mix will transition to snow and snow showers everywhere Friday evening. Other than a few flurries Saturday morning, the weekend looks generally dry with temperatures in the mid and upper 30s.
