Earlier this week we we had temperatures up into the 90s but over the last couple of days the weather has been more comfortable.

At Forest Park in Springfield people were out enjoying the nice “late” spring weather. It was a great day to go for a walk or to take a bike ride.

“Many people are looking forward to enjoying this summer’s weather. “Just going to the beach, hiking, relaxing enjoying New England,” said Martin Manoogian of Springfield.

“Of course vacation, the beach is always lovely and I’m an avid walker so being out in the park is always wonderful,” said Cheryl Whalen of Springfield.

The summer solstice officially occurs Thursday morning at 6:07 a.m. It’s when we experience the longest period of daylight of the year and it’s also when the midday sun is at its highest point in the sky.
