It has rained through much of the night and into the early morning in the lower Pioneer Valley, and the weather may slow your ride to work Friday.
Most of western Massachusetts is dealing with only rain, but some areas are seeing more in the way of snow. The eastern and western hills of Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin County could see snow mixing in, with a risk of more accumulating snow in Berkshire County. In fact, northern Berkshire County is currently under a Winter Storm Warning.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for southern Berkshire County, as well as western Hampshire and Franklin Counties.
Back in the Springfield area, there is not much snow on the ground, but if there is snow in front of your home, you will want to make sure your storm drain is clear. Bodies of water could form around the drain and cause some flooding.
Rain could also run off snow piles as well, but the rain could also help melt some snow as the temperature rises.
Also, remember to look out for any possible puddles on the roadways, to prevent yourself from hydroplaning.
