NOAA: 2018 fourth warmest year on record

We’ve had some very cold and also some pretty mild weather so far this year.

The numbers are in an according to NOAA last year was the 4th warmest year on record.    

The average global temperature during 2018 was 1.42 degrees above the 20th-century average. It was the 42nd year in a row that the global average temperature was above average. Nine of the 10 warmest years have occurred since 2005.

Across the United States, 2018 was the 14th warmest year on record but the third wettest on record. The average precipitation was 34.63 inches which was 4.69 inches above average. 

2018 was the wettest year on record at Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee.
