NOAA: February 2019 fifth warmest on record across the world

Weather News

According to NOAA February 2019 was the fifth warmest on record across the world.

You may not have noticed it much here in western Massachusetts but the average global temperature in February was 1.42 degrees above the 20th century average of 53.9 degrees making it the fifth warmest February in 140 years of records.

February 2019 was also the 43rd consecutive February with global temperatures above average. Except for the east coast, most of the United States actually experienced some of the coldest temperatures around the world during the month of February.

Right now it doesn’t look like any big warm-ups are on the way for us anytime soon but there are some indications that April could be warmer than normal.
