Residents looking forward to spring-like weather after Thursdays frigid morning

Weather News

Spring is just a couple of weeks away, but you wouldn’t have known it Thursday.

It felt more like the middle of January and not the beginning of March Thursday.

It was a very frigid start to the day Thursday with temperatures down in the single digits and even below zero in some spots. And despite a good deal of sunshine, it did very little to warm us up. High temperatures once again Thursday were only in the 20s, that’s about 15 to 20 degrees below normal.

“Don’t really like it, would like at least in the 40s normal temperatures for March,” said Mark Sotiropoulos of Chicopee. “I’m not crazy about this cold weather yet you know but I know it’s going to warm up eventually very soon.”

Our average high temperature for this time of year is around 40 degrees.

It’s once again very cold out Thursday night.
