We’re well into winter and there is no snow on the ground in the Springfield area.
It’s a different story though in the Berkshires where the snow was falling in Pittsfield most of the day.
Many people who live in the Berkshires spent the day shoveling and snow blowing.
The plows were also out and fortunately, the snow did have trouble sticking to the roads during the afternoon as temperatures warmed up to just above freezing.
“It’s been a pretty mild winter so far and what we have right now is sloppy it’s easy to deal with,” said Phil O’Rourke of Pittsfield.
“Really can’t complain, it’s the first snow. We’ve really gotten we’ve had it before but it melts and goes away this isn’t fun though it’s a little heavy,” said Patrick Calahan.
Most areas in the Berkshires picked up between around 2 to 4 inches of snow with some spots getting a little bit more.
