Weather Alert: Two days of potentially hazardous weather

Occasional downpours today could bring some minor street flooding and a strong storm is possible.

The 22News Storm Team has issued a Weather Alert for today with the risk for occasionally heavy downpours that could cause street flooding. While the risk is low, a strong or severe storm is also possible.

More hazardous weather is possible through Saturday.

Here’s what we expect:

FRIDAY AFTERNOON-EARLY EVENING:

  • Scattered Shower and Isolated Storms, Not As Wet As This Morning
  • Strong/Severe Storm Possible

LATE FRIDAY EVENING-SATURDAY MORNING:

  • Widespread Soaking Rain Returns, Isolated Thunderstorm
  • Strong/Severe Storm Possible

SATURDAY AFTERNOON-EVENING:

  • Very Gusty Winds
  • Showers Tapering Off
  • Temperatures Dropping Quickly

Severe Weather Threat today is LOW-MEDIUM with the main risk being minor street flooding. An isolated strong or severe storm is possible with a very low risk for a brief tornado. 

Severe Weather Threat Saturday is MEDIUM with the main risk being for street flooding in the morning and wind damage/power outages during the afternoon.

A High Wind Watch has been issued for ALL of western Massachusetts for Saturday afternoon-8pm. Wind gusts over 50 mph are possible.
