CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The 22News Storm Team has issued a Weather Alert for Monday night and Tuesday for snow that will likely impact travel, especially during the morning commute on Tuesday.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for all of western Massachusetts until 7 p.m. Tuesday for accumulating snow that will create slick travel.

The heaviest of the snow has ended and has left 4-8″ for most across western Massachusetts. There will be bursts of snow at times during the morning and middle of the day that will lead to additional minor accumulation of a coating to 3″ on top of what has already fallen and untreated surfaces.
The snow will gradually decrease during the afternoon. The air will warm into the mid 30s in the afternoon, too. That warming along with plow treatment and our higher sun angle this time of year will help road conditions improve for the afternoon and for the evening commute.
The snow ends between 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. from west to east. By 8 p.m. this storm will be gone. Along and east of the Connecticut River, snow accumulation will be 4-8″. Accumulation will be 6-10″ in our western hills, including Berkshire County. It would not be a surprise if there are isolated totals on the east slopes of the Berkshires around a foot when all said and done.
