Weather Alert: Wind Advisory, Flood Warnings as round two of downpours move through

Weather News

1:00PM UPDATE:

Downpours and thunderstorms in the lower Pioneer Valley will taper to scattered showers by mid-afternoon.

Initially heavier rain, gusty winds and possibly some small hail will come with this. Isolated thunderstorm not out of question.

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for ALL of western Massachusetts from this afternoon through Tuesday morning.

Wind gusts could gust over 40 mph today, and there could be tree and power line damage as a result.

Through 5pm we could have a few more storms, downpours, showers and even the potential for small hail.

Later this afternoon the wind will increase, dropping temperatures and bringing the threat for power outages.

A Flood Warning has been issued for the Connecticut River at Montague, Northampton and Thompsonville (CT) due to the risk for minor spring flooding on Tuesday as snow melt and heavy downpours combine to raise river levels.

We’ll keep tracking this muggy, mild land active weather day on 22News.
