Heavy rain and strong winds can cause trees to lose their leaves, which can make for some slippery roads.
Wet leaves on the road can cause your car to slide, so it’s important to drive slow and leave extra room between you and the car in front of you, especially when its raining.
The combination of rain and wet leaves can make your tires lose contact with the road and be just as dangerous as driving on ice.
Holyoke resident Tyler Kelly said becoming a father has made him an extra careful driver. He told 22News, “I’ve been driving back from Bridgeport, CT and I see accidents all the time, all over the highway. I’m constantly reminded how dangerous these wet roads are.”
More rain is expected through the weekend, so you can expect more leaves to come down and more slick roads.
