Will western Massachusetts see snow this week?

Weather News

Cold weather is on the way.

Winter is coming and Wednesday is expected to be chilly, as sleet and snow could be coming later in the week.

By early Thursday morning, we could even see temperatures in the single digits, with snow and sleet possible later on.

With winter weather starting to arrive, AAA has a few reminders:

  • Don’t warm up your car inside the garage
  • Make sure your tires are fully inflated
  • Leave more space between your car and the one in front of you when it’s snowing or roads are slick

Rocky’s Ace Hardware in Agawam already has customers buying the supplies they’ll need in case it snows Thursday.

“I would say shovels are definitely a big one, your snow brushes for your cars,” said Luke Rheault at Rocky’s in Agawam. “Even people getting the RV anti-freeze for their house pipes, that’s a big one too.”

With more snowy days ahead this winter, AAA said you can prevent gas line freeze up by keeping your tank at least half filled, and they recommend not using your parking brake in snowy weather.
