CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – A Wind Advisory is in effect until 10 p.m. Friday for western Hampden, western Hampshire, western Franklin, & Berkshire County with gusts up to 50 mph possible.

Residents woke up to some areas of dense patchy fog in spots Friday morning but the winds will be on the increase and that will get rid of the fog. Skies will become partly sunny to mostly sunny and winds will gust over 25 mph at times throughout the day. It will be mild, with high temperatures in the upper 40s and low 50s.

At Look Park in Northampton, some residents refused to allow this uncommonly mild weather go to waste in February.

“You know, last week we had that cold bite, negative 20 degrees. Now it’s 50 degrees, 70 degree change! I had to get out and enjoy this beautiful weather,” said Chris Hubbard of Florence.

“Just beautiful weather right now, got to get in that Spring cleaning, get all these branches that have fallen down. And the perfect opportunity, my kids will be home after school, go to the playground and the bike path,” explained Marc Patillo of Florence.
